Lan Harrington

Lan Harrington is a Director at MHT Partners and joined the firm in 2002.  At MHT, she has spent the past decade working with entrepreneurs, midsized companies, and private equity clients to help them develop growth and investment strategies.   Her work has focused primarily on sellside positioning, acquisition strategies, market assessments, and valuation studies.

Lan has worked extensively with businesses engaged in consumer goods, education, technology, and tech-enabled services.  Her transactions include assignments with Freeman, Edline (Blackboard), Archipelago Learning, Authentix, Anue, and CorporateRewards, as well as numerous private equity firms across the U.S.

Prior to MHT, Lan was a management consultant at Bain and Company, where she at various times was based in Dallas, London, and San Francisco and helped to establish Bain’s Silicon Valley office.  At Bain Lan advised Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 corporations on a variety of strategic and operational issues, including acquisitions, post-merger integration plans, joint ventures, competitive and cost studies, and post-transaction platform growth strategies.  During the 1990s she served as a product manager for early social media and Internet business technologies at both AOL and iPlanet (a Sun/Netscape venture).

Lan received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Rice University.

Lan lives in the Dallas area with her husband Eric and their four children.  She serves on the Board of Executives in Action, a nonprofit that pairs business leaders with charitable organizations in order to provide tactical assistance to nonprofits in need of specialized project support.
