Carol Frank, a Managing Director – Operating Partner at MHT Partners, is focused on the consumer growth industry, with an exclusive focus in the pet sector.

Prior to MHT Partners, Carol’s investment banking background comprises of deals exclusive to the pet industry, such as the sale of Cloud Star to Frontenac and the acquisition of Zeus Pet Products by Animal Supply. Prior to her investment banking career, from 1987 to 2007, Carol founded and operated highly successful pet-related companies: The Animal Kingdom, a pet retail business in Dallas; Avian Kingdom Supply, Inc., a multimillion distributor of 2,100-plus pet products, which she sold to Central Garden and Pet; and Avian Adventures, one of the world’s largest designers and importers of exclusive birdcages and accessories, which she operated for 11 years before selling to Midwest Homes for Pets. Carol began her career as a CPA with Ernst & Young and also spent three years as an executive recruiter for Robert Half International.

She is the author of the highly acclaimed book, Do As I Say, Not As I Did! Gaining Wisdom in Business Through The Mistakes of Highly Successful People (translated into four languages). Carol is a monthly contributor to American Pet Products Association e-update and APPA Professional Women’s Network newsletter. She was a 2015 “Women of Influence” winner, an award given by Pet Age magazine to female leaders in the pet industry.

Carol has served in leadership roles within the pet industry and on the board of more than a dozen nonprofit and business organizations, including:

• Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council aka PIJAC
• The Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at CU Boulder
• University of Colorado Leeds School of Business Women’s Council (Chair Emerita)

Carol has an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BBA in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
